Fun Facts About Dolphins!

In the oceans, bays, and rivers of the world, swims a playful and intelligent creature called the dolphin. Dolphin have smooth, shiny skin, a fin on their back, a pair of flippers and the cutest smiling faces with a beak-like nose. Some dolphins that live with humans are trained to perform tricks, like a balancing ball on their nose, jumping up to take a fish from their trainer, or leaping out of the water at the same time as their dolphin friends. In nature dolphins are playful too, and often swim together alongside human boats. Dolphins are highly intelligent creatures, and are known for their ability to communicate and cooperate with each other. So next time you're at the beach, be sure to look out for the dolphin. The smallest dolphins are the female Vaquita which grows up to 1.5 meters (4 feet 11”) long, which is smaller than most grown-ups. Other small dolphins are the female Tucuxi (1.52 meters) and  female New Zealand dolphin (1.63 meters).
