Fun Facts About Diplodocus!

The Diplodocus was a large, long-necked dinosaur that lived on Earth millions of years ago. This gentle giant was one of the longest creatures to ever walk the earth and was easy to recognize. The Diplodocus had a long, slender body, a long tail and a very very long neck. It was a herbivore, which means it ate plants for food, and with its long neck it could reach its small head up into the trees to eat the leaves. So next time you look up at a tall tree, think of the Diplodocus, who could reach even the tallest branches!

The Diplodocus’ front legs were shorter than its back legs, which would have made it easy to eat plants near to the ground. On each of the Diplodocus’ front feet was one big claw, but scientists don’t know how the claw was used.
